Photographers are Gathering for the Istanbul Photography Festival

The famous Fotoİstanbul Beşiktaş International Photography Festival is going to be organized on 1st October 2016.

This festival will be attended by sixty photographers not only from Turkey but also from other parts of the world. As far as the agenda is concerned, it will host numbers of programs like Twelve round-table discussions, Sixty exhibitions, meeting and chat sessions with some of the eminent guest speakers, autograph sessions and portfolio assessments.

Happening for the third time, the venues of this prestigious photography festival will be the O’Art Gallery, Ortaköy Cultural Center, MKM Cultural Center, Ortaköy Orphanage and Çırağan’s District Governorship Building.

It will exhibit the famous photographs of thirty five eminent foreign photographers like Ruud van Empel, Christer Strömhölm, Josef Hoflehner, Henrik Spohler, Sandro Miller, Mandy Barker, Shadi Ghadirian, Antonie D’agata, Daesung Lee, Park Seung Hoon, Kai Widenhofer, and Tomasz Laza. The event will also celebrate the works of some well known Turkish artists like H-art Kollektif, Aydın Büyüktaş, Seçkin Yılmaz, Barbaros Kayan, Yıldız Moran, Gül Ilgaz, Ahmet Öner Gezgin, Bennu Gerede, Sinan Tuncay, Tayfun Öztürk, Maryam Şahinyan and Ergun Turan.

As far as the guest of honor is concerned, this year Hungary is selected to be a part of this Festival. Fotoİstanbul has requested Hungary to enrich the festival and has already scheduled a session where Hungary’s famous photographs will be showcased. There are many photographers who grew up in Hungary and some of them are Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Brassai, Robert Capa and Andre Kertesz.
